About Geoff Shera Bibliothequeist

Geoff works in the Brisbane City Council's Mt Ommaney Library which is a public community library which has a multi-language collection.
Geoff is interested in new media and information literacy and literature and filmmaking and green spaces. He has been round site when a few Australian feature and short films and videos have been made and has served as a secretary on a number of community organisations including the Brisbane Independent Filmmakers and (in the the 1970s) Friends of the Earth in Canberra and Centenary Little Athletics.
Geoff has also worked for a number of years as a volunteer tutor to people who do not have english as a first language. He has an arts degree in professional writing from the Canberra College of Advanced Education (with a major in history from studies at the Australian National and Griffith Universities and a Diploma of Library and Information Services.
He has published a few slim literary volumes including Brizbin Boy Canberra Girl and Death on the Dole Australian Poems, songs and stories.
He is also a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) and has produced and directed a number of short motion pictures including Brigitte Bardot of Indoropilly and Citizen Queen a documentary satire about what young people really thought about the absurd notion of an english monarch as the Queen of Australia. He has edited or read for a number of writers, directors and producers including Davida Allen, Glenys Rowe, Gerard Lee, Chris Noonan, Doan Nguyen and A.D.Hope.

Bangalee Street Bibliotheque

The Bangalee Street Bibliotheque is a developing experimental and model internet portal and terrestrial site and association for a private community of South East Queensland producers of artistic materials, information architecture and cultural events. The Bibliotheque aims to utilise digital information and its internet presence to make more terrestial, actual, accessible, share-able and readable the artistic production and cultural presence of its members. The Bibliotheque also has terrestrial homes at various terrestrial events such as at the Mt Ommaney Library Film-Lovers screenings, Our Digital Images Our digital Communites Conference, and the Mt Ommaney Library Lunar New Year Celebration. The terrestrial heart of the Bibliotheque is centred at Bangalee St Jindalee under the direction of Geoff Shera. B.A.p.w, Dip. Library and Information Services.
